The most cost-effective way to print vibrant, long-lasting designs on garments. Perfect for bulk orders, sports teams, events and corporate clothing.
Screen printing (also called silk screening) is a traditional printing method where ink is pushed through a fine mesh screen onto the garment. Each colour in your design requires a separate screen, making it the most economical method for large quantities.
The result is a bold, vibrant print with exceptional durability — screen prints can last the lifetime of the garment when properly cared for. The inks sit on top of the fabric, giving prints a slightly raised feel that many customers prefer.
Photographic or full-colour gradient designs (consider DTF instead). Orders under 12 items (setup costs make it less economical at low quantities).
We optimise your artwork for screen printing — separating colours, adjusting trapping and ensuring everything is press-ready. Vector files are ideal.
A separate screen is burned for each colour in your design. Photopolymer emulsion is exposed to UV light through your artwork film, hardening the non-image areas.
Garments are loaded onto the press. Ink is pulled across each screen in sequence — layer by layer — building up your full design with precision registration.
Printed garments pass through a conveyor dryer at 160°C to cure the inks permanently. Each item is quality checked before folding and despatch.
Choose where on the garment your design appears. Multiple placements can be combined.
Small logo or text, positioned over the left breast. The most popular placement for corporate and workwear.
Large design covering most of the front chest area. Maximum visual impact, ideal for events and fashion tees.
Large print on the back of the garment. Often combined with a front left chest for a professional finish.
Print on both front and back — the full package. Popular for sports kits, event staff and band merchandise.
Design printed on the upper sleeve. Great for adding additional branding, sponsor logos or numbering.

Screen printing is most economical from 12 items. Below this quantity, setup costs (burning screens for each colour) make the per-unit cost less competitive. For smaller quantities, we recommend DTF Printing, which has a lower £25 per colour setup fee shared across items using the same artwork.
Yes — a screen setup fee of £15 per colour applies to your first order. On repeat orders using the same artwork, this fee is waived. So the more you reorder, the more economical it becomes.
We support up to 8 spot colours. Each additional colour adds slightly to the cost due to the extra screens required. Simpler 1–3 colour designs are the most cost-effective. For full-colour photographic designs, DTF printing is a better choice.
Vector files are strongly preferred — AI, EPS, or PDF. These can be scaled to any size without losing quality. If you only have a raster file (PNG or JPG), it must be at least 300dpi at the final print size. See our Design Guide for full artwork requirements.
Yes — we use specialist water-based and plastisol inks including white underbase printing, which allows vibrant colours to sit on top of dark fabrics. This does add a small additional cost per garment.
Screen prints are extremely durable. Cured plastisol inks can last the lifetime of the garment. We recommend washing inside out at 30°C and avoiding tumble drying to maximise print life.
